Intergenerational fairness / justice

Today's decisions should not unfairly burden future generations.

Details

Our Take
Increasingly mainstream. Younger people deserve meaningful voice in decisions that will shape their longer futures. The EU's Intergenerational Commissioner gives it institutional reality. Youth engagement is not tokenism but a governance principle. If decisions about resilience programming shape the next 30 years, then the people who will live those 30 years should have voice in the design.
